The Effectiveness of Wetland Ecosystem Material E-module on Critical Thinking Skills of Environmental Science and Disaster Mitigation Course Students Universitas Riau Abstract The Environmental Science and Disaster Mitigation Course (ILMB) is a general course at the University of Riau, containing one of the course achievements, namely the wetland ecosystem material that supports the implementation of the Center of Excellence (CoE). However, after an analysis of the learning tools has not been found, special teaching materials that discuss this material are not found, for that it is necessary to develop teaching materials on wetland ecosystem materials. The learning process is expected to stimulate 21st century skills, one of which is the ability to think critically. Therefore, an E-module with case based learning was developed to improve students^ critical thinking skills. This study examines the effect of E-modules with case based learning on students^ critical thinking skills. This research was conducted at the University of Riau. This study uses a quasi-experimental research with research subjects of students who are taking ILMB courses. In practice, students are given a pretest and posttest. The research parameter is students^ critical thinking ability. Indicators of critical thinking skills are analyzing, synthesizing, recognizing, solving problems, concluding, and evaluating. Collecting critical thinking skills data in the form of pretest and posttest questions. Data are presented and analyzed inferentially. The results of students^ critical thinking skills obtained an N-gain index of 0.71 (effective category). Overall, e-modules can improve students^ critical thinking skills.
