STUDENTS PERCEPTION OF CITIZEN SCIENCE PROJECT IN VERTEBRATE ZOOLOGY COURSES a)Doctoral Programme of Natural Sciences Education, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia Abstract Citizen science activities are starting to develop at this time in Indonesia. Through these activities, researchers, students, and public can collaborate in collecting, analyzing and sharing data on target species so that they can contribute to scientific research. But citizen science activities has not been introduced in lectures so that there are still many students who do not know citizen science. The purpose of this study was to analyze students perception of citizen science in vertebrate zoology course. This research is a descriptive analysis study conducted using a survey method through questionnaires and interviews which were distributed to students online. The number of samples in this study were 48 students of Biology Education. The results showed that 62.5% of students stated that citizen science is a new thing. After the socialization about citizen science, 75% of students are motivated to participate in citizen science activities and 79.2% are interested in becoming citizen scientist who contributed to data collection. Based on these data, this study is expected to be useful for the development of citizen science program as a learning innovation that will be implemented in vertebrate zoology courses.
