Abstract

The aim of this study is to describe the mathematical connection ability of junior high school students in solving circle problems in students with visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning styles. The research subjects were eighth grade students of MTs. Muallimin Univa Medan which consisted of one student with visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning styles. The research instrument consisted of a mathematical connection ability test and an interview guide. The ability of mathematical connections in this study consisted of two, namely using the connections of mathematical concepts in solving the given mathematical problems and solving mathematical problems related to real life. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that visual learning style students are able to meet both indicators, namely using the linkage of mathematical concepts in solving given mathematical problems and linking mathematical concepts to everyday problems, auditory learning style students are able to meet the second indicator, namely linking mathematical concepts, and students with kinesthetic learning style have not been able to fulfill the two indicators of mathematical connection ability.
