Research on the Application of ^Cooperative Learning Method^ in Juvenile Swimming Teaching in the context of China^s Sports Power Construction a) College of Physical Education, Anhui Normal University, Wuhu, Anhui Province, China, 241000 Abstract Abstract: In the process of China^s sports power construction, how to promote the all-round development of sports for people and improve the swimming teaching mode is the primary core issue to be solved. In the past several decades, Physical Education in China at juvenile level has paid much more attention to the cultivation of technical teaching, yet ignoring students^ interest in participation and the importance of students^ independent/cooperative learning capabilities. In this context, this study tries to explore how to adopt cooperative learning method into the swimming class at juvenile level and to compare its teaching effects to traditional teaching mode and traditional education thought. Cooperative learning method is a student-oriented and teacher-dominated mode within various cooperative learning groups. It adopts various comprehensive factors to motivate students, and promotes their awareness of cooperation and competition in society. This paper uses the methods of literature research, logical reasoning, expert interviews, mathematical statistics and comparative experiments to analyze the traditional swimming teaching methods and ^cooperative learning method^ in swimming teaching. The research results show that cooperative learning method has a very positive effect on Teenagers^ physical quality, as well as mobilizing students^ learning enthusiasm, strengthening students^ self-confidence and enhancing students^ awareness of cooperation and competition. Meanwhile, it also helps most juvenile students have a greater breakthrough in their original swimming skill.
