The Effectiveness of Teaching Materials for the Introductory Core Physics Course Based on the Use of PhET to Improve the Activity and Learning Outcomes of Physics Education Students 1Affiliation, Town/City, Country Physics Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Mataram, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. Abstract This study aims to examine the effectiveness of teaching materials for the introductory core physics course based on the use of PhET to improve the activity and learning outcomes of physics education students. The device was developed using a 4D model which includes define, design, develop and disseminate. The sample of this research was all 20 undergraduate students taking the core physics course. Analysis of the pre-test and post-test were tested for significance with the t-test at a significance level of 5%, while the increase in student activity and learning outcomes used the N-gain test. The results of the t-test show that the t-count value is greater than the t-table. This means that the teaching materials for introductory core physics courses based on the use of PhET are effective in increasing the activities and learning outcomes of physics education students. Analysis of increased activity and learning outcomes were analyzed using the N-gain test. The N-gain analysis shows that student learning activities and outcomes have increased in the high category. This means that student learning activities and outcomes are effectively enhanced by using PhET-based introductory physics courses.
