SCIENCE LITERACY PROFILE OF JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ON CLIMATE CHANGE MATERIAL

Abstract

This study aims to describe the science literacy of junior high school students on Climate Change material. In Bogor Regency, namely on the theme of climate change. The study was conducted on 76 grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 3 Cileungsi, Bogor Regency using the ex-post-facto method. Data were collected using a science literacy test of 15 questions consisting of: (1) competition to explain phenomena, analyze and interpret data to draw conclusions, and interpret scientific evidence and data. Science literacy data were then analyzed in a quantitative descriptive manner. The results showed that the average achievement of science literacy as a whole was 38%. This is influenced by several factors such as learning resources that lack scientific literacy coverage. Based on these data, it can be concluded that students^ science literacy on climate change material is low.
