Abstract

The tourism benefits received from hosting events have been well-known for decades. The huge and rapidly expanding event industry requires strategic management. This study^s objective is to explore how scholars have operationalized strategy in relation to events. Both from the standpoint of event management and event tourism. This study adopts the notion and framework of strategy from Wheelen and Hunger, as well as the discourses on event management and event tourism from Getz. Using a Systematic Literature Review method, the findings attempt to characterize the present status of research on event management and event tourism-related strategies. The conclusions of this study are derived from a review of 54 scientific articles to provide an overview about Citation, Author, Journal Source, Year, Country, Keyword, Purpose, Literature review, Method, Data Analysis, Name of The Events, Type of Strategy, Focus, Event Discourses, and Type of Event.
