Abstract
Social studies education is a simplification of several social studies disciplines. One of the social studies studied in the context of social studies education is economics. Adjusted to the objectives of social studies itself, economics-based studies are studied in an integrated manner both in economics as a science and in a more specific space, namely related to economics education. This study focuses on the study of economic education which is developed in learning in the Social studies Education Study Program. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative, the subjects used are students of social studies education study programs, while the data collection techniques use observation, documentation studies and interviews. The results of this study are that economics education has a very important role, not only as a scientific discipline that enriches the study of other social sciences, but also as a means to foster an entrepreneurial spirit in students. Through economics education, students can enrich their entrepreneurial insights which are very supportive for their lives in the era of globalization
