Abstract

This study^s objective was to investigate the factors of quality indicators in curriculum and best practices in the implementation of physical education teacher education (BPED) in Philippine higher education institutions. It utilized a mixed-mode design with data source triangulation using semi-structured interviews with Physical Education directors and instructors from a random sample of seven (7) Philippine public universities that offer Bachelor in Physical Education. The instrument was a relevant survey with a 1 to 5 rating scale. Using exploratory factor analysis (EFA) with principal component analysis and orthogonal rotation by the Promax method, the data were analyzed. According to the study^s findings, the curriculum quality assurance operation for bachelor^s degrees in Physical Education is influenced by four factors, in order of importance. Curriculum and Program of Studies, Instructional Process, Methodologies, and Learning Opportunities, Assessment of Academic Performance, and Learning Management are the four factors. In general, the derived factors accounted for 68.236 percent of key success indicators for Physical Education bachelor^s degree curriculum quality assurance operations. Triangulation of the data suggested BPED program best practices. This study^s findings can be used as a call to action to enhance physical education teacher education.
