Abstract

The purpose of this study is to use bibliometric mapping and the VOSviewer program to assess the evolution of the body of knowledge on sedentary behavior and visceral fat. The publish or perish reference manager tool was used to retrieve the data from the Google Scholar database. The keywords ^Sedentary behavior^ and ^Visceral Fat^ were used to guide the research process and determine relevant articles. In total, 990 articles were found relevant to the keywords. The ten years were used in Google Scholar index from 2012 to 2022. The results show that four terms appear the most related to keywords, sedentary behavior (165 links with a total link strength of 1612), physical activity (151 links with a full link strength of 1116), obesity (147 links with a total link strength of 843), and visceral fat (142 links with a total link strength of 639). The trend of the publication on sedentary behavior and visceral fat shows a fluctuation but gradually increases from 2012 to 2022, with an average of 90 publications per year. The publication reached the best number of research in 2021, with 134 publications. This review can be used as a pilot study to conduct related research areas according to other subjects.
