Brain-Based Learning Teaching Materials to improve Critical Thinking skills and Students Literacy Skills

Abstract

Optimal learning process should be able to facilitate learning activities that is compatible to both parts of the brain. This study aims to analyze teaching materials with the Brain Based Learning approach in improving critical thinking skills and students scientific literacy abilities. The analysis was conducted by reviewing the results of research conducted on Brain based learning teaching materials to improve critical thinking skills and scientific literacy abilities. Critical thinking data and scientific literacy were obtained from the collection of 18 scientific journals available from Google Scholar. The results showed an increase in critical thinking skills of 0.63 and a scientific literacy ability of 0.62 which was included in the moderate category. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that teaching materials with a brain based learning approach can improve critical thinking skills and scientific literacy of students.
