Abstract
As a form of fulfillment of the peoples rights to the state, policies are made that apply to all components of society related to education issues. Especially for Early Childhood Education or Paud, the government has made policies and regulations which were later developed into regulations at the Ministry of Education and Culture related to administrative and implementation mechanisms. With the existence of a policy related to Paud, it provides an opportunity for the wider community to participate in its implementation. Although there are clear rules regarding the application of Paud in Indonesia, there are still several policies that overlap and are not in accordance with practice in the field. Therefore, this essay was written with the aim of early childhood education policy as a public discourse that can be carried out by all PAUD institutions fairly in accordance with the standards. By using a literature study research method related to critical discourse analysis of Paud policies in Indonesia, finally and perhaps this essay will provide an overview of reasons for the existence of Paud in Indonesia.
