Abstract
The functions of teacher are to teach, educate, guide, direct, assess and evaluate students in the interaction of learning activities. The implementation of learning activities requires politeness in the teacher’s and student’s interactions. The Indonesian education figure who is famous for his politeness is KH. Ahmad Dahlan. It is important to find various historical facts, social events, learning activities during the period of KH. Ahmad Dahlan as a reflection of the implications of current learning activities. This paper aims to describe (1) the concept of teacher’s politeness based on KH. Ahmad Dahlans thoughts, and (2) its implications for early childhood learning activities. With a qualitative approach, library study methods, interview data collection techniques on teachers and Muhammadiyah organizations. The data were analysed with content analysis technique, and refer to the Miles and Huberman model steps. The results of this study were expected to produce the concept data based on KH. Ahmad Dahlan and the current practices of Early Childhood Education teacher’s politeness in the context of learning activities inside and outside the network. The results of this study can be used by academics to practitioners in the application of teacher politeness in early childhood learning strategies both in and outside the network. The results of this study, for UPI and Muhammadiyah can be used as a guide for developing and strengthening the character of prospective professional early childhood education teachers, especially related to the politeness of teachers based on KH. Ahmad Dahlans thoughts.
