Abstract
This article discusses gender representation in the media used by children. In general, the concept of gender to society through the media. However, the media often creates stereotypes in the characters depicted. One of them is through books, especially in this paper, we focus on childrens books. Childrens books are very diverse; some describe fiction as well as non-fiction. Both fiction and non-fiction, in general, describe how the ways and characters of women and men that are related to gender representing in narrative language and visualization of images in childrens books. Based on literature review, childrens books are an effective medium for early childhood education both at school and at home. So that childrens books have the potential to influence childrens understanding of the concept of gender. Thus, it is a matter to discuss gender-equitable representation in childrens books.
