Abstract
Research on the identity of Indonesian children is still dominated and based on Western research. This is a very influential weakness in the paradigm and development of the identity of Indonesian children. Even though the cultural identity of children is very much influenced by ethnicity. One of the cultural heritages that can affect the ethnicity of children from the Bugis community is Pappaseng. Pappaseng is a sacred message from Bugis ancestors that has been passed down from generation to generation, containing wisdom to realize the noble life order of the Bugis community. So it was agreed that Pappaseng as a way of life and a testament to be obeyed and always heeded whenever and wherever Buginese humans are. This paper will focus on discussing Pappseng which contains the basic values of the Bugis community which are also used as the basis for educating children. These values are the values of lempu, getteng, siriq, and tonging.
