Good Physical Fitness at School Age: A Necessity to Face Industrial Revolution 4.0

Abstract

The pluses and minuses of Industrial Revolution 4.0 have affected the world, including Southeast Asian countries. One of the minuses of Industrial Revolution, which has arised since 18th century, was the massively reduction of human labor in both micro and macro industry. Likewise, this impact also occurs in Industrial Revolution 4.0. The implication of this issue is that unemployment increases in varoius countries, including Indonesia. Despite the fact that Industrial Revolution is an advance in science and technology, it cannot be denied that Industrial Revolution gives the negative impacts on human life for getting job to survice and for getting good quality of health and physical fitness. Negatif impacts of Industrial Revolution also affect education sector. The low level of students^ physical fitness can be caused by lack of physical activities carried out by students both at school and outside the school hours. This article discusses the importance of physical fitnes for millenials, especially in school education sector (elementary, junior high, and high school). It will also discusses constructive efforts made by governments and practitioners in order to prepare smart, physically fit and healthy, active, creative, and skillfull.
