Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the profile of physical fitness level of the West Java Cricket athletes. 24 participants (17 male and 7 female) aged (20 ± 2.3) took part in this study. Participants completed a series of field-based fitness assessments: strength muscle (hand dynamometer-30.6±7.42, leg dynamometer- 71.3±9.64, back dynamometer- 70.4±4.99 ), sit up- 31.5±5, push up- 26.8±7.77), speed (run 50 meters- 50.8±2.76), agility (shuttle run- 16.5±0.67), flexibility (flexometer- 17.5±3.8), leg power (vertical jump- 46.4±14.18) and VO2max (balke test- 5.6±1.10). The data provided the physical fitness profile for each player, which, compared with normative data, identified that this cohort of cricketers had some enough fitness parameters compared with the general population, and where applicable. In addition, after effect size calculations, the results showed that some physical fitness differences existed between playing positions. conditioning coaches of physical fitness and strength should seek to progress these physical parameters and further identify position-specific physical requirements to progress the modern game.
