Abstract
The problems of ergonomic workload can occur in physical and mental aspects. Likewise in PT Korma Jaya Utama especially in the Extraction department, some problems indicate with physical and mental aspects. The operator must be lifted manually of 150 kg/barrel with a distance of 15 m, and it must be done repetitively during work hours. This research aims to assess the physical and mental workload of operators and design the ergonomic material handling to minimize the problems. The method in asses physical workload is using energy consumption calculation, and the mental workload is using NASA-TLX method. According to the calculation, the result of energy consumption and NASA-TLX assessment is categorized by very heavy which the high value of physical, mental, and frustration indicators. The score of MD is 350, PD is 375, and F is 330. Mental and physical workload was classified as very high and required to improvements.
