Abstract

This study aims to determine the decrease in levels of pollutants and heavy metals in laboratory liquid waste before and after going through the ozonation process. The first thing to do is to treat laboratory liquid waste through an ozonation process with variations of 20 minutes, 40 minutes and 60 minutes. Then perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of heavy metals through the SAA test. After that the parameters measured include TDS, TSS, and COD. The use of ozone in wastewater treatment provides efficient and effective results because it shows a decrease in pollutant and heavy metal levels. Prior to the ozonation process, heavy metal Cd was detected with a concentration of 2.223 ppm, and Pb of 8.57 ppm. After a 20 minute ozonation process, metal levels were no longer detectable. The results of TDS, TSS and COD also showed a decrease after the ozonation process. These results indicate that the ozonation process is effective in reducing pollutant levels in laboratory wastewater.
