Abstract
The objectives of this study are to: (a) obtain an overview of the suitability of the practical objectives with the basic competencies developed in the design of laboratory activities, (b) to obtain an overview of the suitability of practical objectives with procedural steps with the concepts to be achieved, (c) to know whether the design of laboratory activities used supports the construction of knowledge based on the analysis of components in the design of laboratory activities. This study used a qualitative descriptive method through several stages, namely analysis, testing, and reconstruction of the five practical design activities to identify the presence of coliform bacteria based on home experiment in class X SMA. The instrument used is a modification of the instrument to analyze the suitability of practical activities with the curriculum and the Vee diagram to see whether the design of the laboratory activity used constructs knowledge or not. From the results of the practical guide design analysis, only 40% were in the good category, 20% were in the moderate category and 40% were in the poor category .
