THE USE OF JOURNAL WRITING IN LEARNING REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEMS EFFECT TO GERMANY COGNITIVE LOAD STUDENTS

Abstract

Journal writing is an approach to writing for learning. In journal writing students write their reflections on the learning material that was delivered by the previous teacher. The use of journal writing aims to determine the relationship with students^ german cognitive load (GCL) in learning the reproductive system. This study used a quasi experimental research method. The research design used was a control group post-test only design. The subjects in this study consisted of 30 students of class XI MIPA for the 2020/2021 academic year who had participated in learning the reproductive system. Data collection was carried out qualitatively. Qualitative data were obtained through questionnaires. The results showed that writing journal writing made students try harder to understand the reproductive system material (50% agreed, 16.7% strongly agreed, and 33.3% strongly agreed).
