Covid-19 educational videos with STREAM (science technology religion engineering art and mathematics) approach created by prospective teacher-students

Abstract

One of the media that is considered for educating the public and students about Covid-19 effectively is by using video. Prospective teacher students are required to be able to provide varied and innovative learning media. One of them is the Stop Motion animation video learning media. This research aims to develop a covid-19 educational video media for students and the community that is integrated with STREAM (Science Technology Religion Engineering Art and Mathematics) which can help increase student and public understanding of the conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic. This type of research is Research and Development using the ADDIE (Analysis Design Development Implementation Evaluation) development model. The model has 5 stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. However, in this study, it was only until the ADD stage, namely Analysis, Design and Development. The paper describes how the process of making and assessing the feasibility of learning media in the form of thirty-two stop motion animation videos with the theme of covid-19 education through the STREAM approach made by student-teacher candidates in 2020 at one of the Islamic universities in Bandung. The videos educated students of how to avoid and stop the spread of the viruses based on scientific fundamental understandings. Literature review of how viruses transmitted and destroyed the host cells was conducted by prospective teacher-student in ADD stages.
