Abstract
A scientific approach is a learning approach that uses scientific steps as a reference for learning. The scientific approach aims to improve intellectual abilities, especially students^ high-level critical thinking skills. This study aims to describe the effectiveness of worksheets based on a scientific approach in improving students^ critical thinking skills. The method used in this study is research and development using the 4D model. This paper discusses the develop stage. The subjects in this study were 10th-grade students at a private high school in Medan. While the object in this study is the students^ critical thinking skills. Data collection was carried out by giving tests, questionnaires, and observations. The instruments used were tests and questionnaire sheets. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the worksheets based on the scientific approach developed had the effectiveness category in terms of (1) classical student learning completeness- and (2) student responses.
