Abstract
Learning from home during COVID-19 makes many students get difficult situations to study from home without a teacher. Thus, students need study material, in such a way that they are capable of learning at home independently. The aim of this research is to create an interactive e-book of momentum and impulse design oriented on balance of scientific literacy, which can support students understand momentum and impulse subject. This study uses mixed methods with exploratory sequential research design. This research is initiated by collecting data qualitatively as a first stage before designing an interactive e-book. The results of analyzing collected qualitative data are applied for designing an interactive e-book. The next stage is to validate the contents of the interactive e-book and the results of the validation are processed quantitatively. The results validated by expert are used to improve the interactive e-book. Henceforth, a limited test was conducted to collect data on learning outcome improvement, reading comprehension, and student responses. The result of the test shows that the improvement of student^s cognitive abilities belongs to high category with index of N-gain is 0.72, average readability rate is 83% included belongs to high category and positive response from students. The final stage of the research is to revise the interactive e-book- hence the aim of the research is achieved with 2:1:1:1 ratio which is balanced according to scientific literacy aspect. This research is useful for students, especially during the current pandemic, and can support students study independently at home.
