Abstract
Creativity is seen as a solution to many global problems, in which this solution requires a new interdisciplinary approach, such as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Currently, this approach has not been widely used as a reference in the development of teaching materials in universities, including in the Biochemistry course. This study aimed to obtain information about the importance of the STEM-EDP-Based module to improve biology students^ creativity in the biochemistry course. This study used a qualitative descriptive method through a survey with 75 sample students and 15 sample teachers from the biochemistry course. The data were collected through a questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive analysis. The preliminary analysis results indicated that the teaching materials used in the Biochemistry course have not fully empowered students^ creativity since it could not facilitate students to design or engineer in solving everyday contextual problems. The analysis becomes the basis for developing STEM-EDP-based modules to improve biology students^ creativity in a biochemistry course.
