The research objective was to measure the scientific literacy achievements of junior high school students in Tulang Bawang district based on PISA scientific literacy competencies (explaining phenomena scientifically- evaluating and designing scientific investigations- interpreting data and proving scientifically) and measuring the scientific literacy achievements of junior high school students in Tulang Bawang district as a whole. during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research is a descriptive quantitative research. This study does not provide treatment or change the independent variables then processed and presented as is. Sampling was conducted using purposive sampling technique with a sample size of 305 students of junior high school from 5 schools, both public and private. The data were collected using a scientific literacy test instrument, consisting of 12 questions to explain phenomena scientifically, 4 questions to evaluate and design scientific investigations, and 9 questions to interpret the data and prove scientifically. The questions presented were adopted and adapted from the PISA type. Data were analyzed using the Guttman scale scoring technique. The score is made into a percentage and the results are grouped based on the students scientific literacy category. The results showed that the overall average achievement of students scientific literacy was 39.92%. The ability to explain phenomena scientifically is 43.34%, the ability to evaluate and design scientific investigations is 30.40%, the ability to interpret data and prove scientifically is 46.01%. The data shows that the average percentage of students scientific literacy of the three abilities shows <50%, it can be concluded that the scientific literacy skills of junior high school students in Tulang Bawang district during the COVID-19 pandemic were still very low.
