Abstract
This research was conducted to investigate the elementary school teachers^ opinions on the nature of science. This research is descriptive quantitative. The instrument was a questionnaire consisting of 28 statements that had been tested for validity. The respondents were four teachers from several elementary schools in the Banda Aceh area. The results show that, in general, 30% of the teachers strongly agree about the nature of the science concept, another 49% agree, 19% disagree, and only 8% strongly disagree. This shows that every teacher tends to have a positive view of the nature of science. Positive responses are almost shown in every aspect of the concept of the nature of science. In the aspect of the scientific method, some teachers disagree with the statement that says ^scientists should obtain their knowledge through a series of scientific methods and various methods as long as they can be justified^. Therefore, teachers need to understand the nature of science as a basis for thinking and practice in obtaining appropriate knowledge in the learning process.
