Abstract
The purpose of this research is to review the literature on the methods of collaborative learning and to examine the effective and efficient use of collaborative learning in developing students mathematics learning achievements. The use of collaborative learning method is most often implemented by the teachers in Indonesia and is one of the various methods of learning that is suggested in the curriculum but optimal implementation creates an in-effectiveness in building students mathematical achievements. The collection of data is done by collecting the literature relevant to the study of the study in the form of books and journals which are then read and examined. The data analysis technique is done qualitatively with the appropriate opinion quoting. Collaborative learning is superior to conventional learning in developing students mathematical achievements with the implementation of a coherent learning method that complies with good and appropriate collaboration rules.
