Abstract
Curriculum change is one of the challenges in the daily practice of education. In The Vocational High School of Computer and Networking Engineering majors as particular, the curriculum changes provide an update on Core Competencies and Basic Competencies (KIKD). Some of these changes include the emergence of core competencies in reviewing fiber optic networks, using fiber optic work tools, making fiber optic connections, repairing fiber optic networks and so on. The consequence of the emergence of the KIKD renewal is that teachers are required to improve their competence in the field of fiber optics. Currently, learning related to fiber optics is only given theoretically. This is due to the lack of teacher competence and limited support for tools and materials for fiber optic practicum. Therefore, a solution is needed so that KIKD needs can be met in accordance with the new adapted curriculum. We found that more than 75% of teachers stated that they could adapt better by participating in the workshop activities. So that, this program has provide fiber optic workshops to Vocational High School teachers of Computer and Networking Engineering majors in Purwakarta with the acceleration in the adaptation of the new curriculum for them.
