Abstract
Abstract. This study aims to test the Quantum Teaching Model on critical thinking skills. In addition, the results obtained are elaborated to answer the semiotic patterns that are formed in children, so this study uses a mixed method (Mixed Method) with a combination of sequentially (Sequential Explanatory). Quantitative research for critical thinking skills and qualitative research for Semiotics. The experimental design used is Quasi-Experimental Design with the research design of The Pretest - Posttest Control Group Design. The population in this study were students of SMPN 1 Takengon, Central Aceh Regency, Aceh Province. The sampling technique chosen was purposive sampling. The results of the study were obtained: 1) There were differences in critical thinking skills between students with high, medium and low initial abilities who obtained the Quantum Teaching Model- 2) There is no interaction effect between learning and early mathematical ability on students^ critical thinking skills achievement- 3) The semiotic patterns formed in this study are: a) mathematical objects- b) signs and symbols- c) Words- d) Circumstances and e) Gestures.
