Abstract
The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics argues that mathematical problem-solving skills are the focus of mathematics in schools. Mathematics teachers accept the idea that the development and improvement of mathematical problem-solving skills need special attention. The students^ mathematical problem-solving skills need to be improved. However, in improving it, teachers must implement mathematics material by encouraging and stimulating students. One of them is by developing suitable learning media, namely the android application. The use of android applications is intended to complement existing learning and provide opportunities for students to relearn less mastered material anywhere and anytime. The use of this android application can undoubtedly give a different experience in the mathematics learning process for students. Therefore, this research discusses developing learning media based on android applications to improve the math problem-solving skills of Junior High School Students on the Pythagorean Theorem. The research and development method used refers to Borg and Gall model and to measure improving math problem-solving skill a Pre-Experimental Design, namely One-group Pretest-Posttest Design, was used. This research was conducted in a Junior High School. The population is Junior High School students who have studied the Concept of Pythagorean Theorem. This measure test is based on the N-gain scale. The results of the Ngain score obtained a value of 0.53, which indicated an increase in math problem-solving skills of students in the medium category.
