Abstract

Technology facilities are one of factor that can support teaching and learning activities, especially vocational students in the realm of technology and information. Computational thinking is also one of the supporting abilities that every student must have. This is in line with the preliminary studies that researchers have done, the teacher stated that students had difficulty and were less active when learning basic programming materials caused by the limited media used and less than optimal methods. The purposes of this research is to determine the effect of unplugged media based on team assisted individualization on the computational thinking skills of vocational high school students in basic programming subjects. The method used in this research is Quasi-experiment using pretest and posttest control group design. The results of the study are: 1) the learning media was declared suitable for use with a percentage value of 94.23% including the ^Very Good^ category by media experts. (2) The learning media that has been designed can improve students^ computational thinking skills with an average gain value of 0.49 and the effectiveness criterion is ^medium^. (3) The student^s response to the use of learning media shows a percentage value of 97, 87% with the ^Very Good^ category

Keywords: Unplugged Media, Team Assisted Individualization, Computational Thinking Skills.
