Cognitive is one of the high-level functions of the human brain. Improving cognitive function can improve the ability to process and organize information to be more maximal and this can be achieved with cognitive enhancer drugs or brain supplements for healthy individuals, known as nootropic drugs. Nootropic drugs have side effects of addiction and vertigo. Therefore, alternatives are needed in improving brain performance to prevent and treat cognitive diseases, one of which is the Ipomoea aquatica Forsk Nanoemulsion. Ipomoea aquatica Forsk has high antioxidant activity that improves cognitive behavior, memory and increases neurotransmitters. Preparations in the form of nanoemulsion can increase absorption, drug solubility, and may increase drug bioavailability which has an impact on the increased absorption of Ipomoea aquatica Forsk in the gastrointestinal tract affecting the onset of ipomoea aquatica forsk as a brain nutrient. Thisresearch aims to find out the antioxidant activity of Ipomoea aquatica Forsk extract and Ipomoea aquatica Forsk nanoemulsion with the DPPH method. Ektrak Ipomoea aquatica Forsk is extracted by soxhletation method in ethanol solvent 96%: aquadest (6:4) and continued uji antioxidant activity is carried out by the DPPH method in visiblespectrophotometry with gallic acid as a positive control. The results showed that Ipomoea aquatica Forsk extract and Ipomoea aquatica Forsk nanoemulsion had antioxidant activity as free radical catchers. IC50 Ipomoea aquatica Forsk extracts and Ipomoea aquatica Forsk nanoemulsions are very strong at 10,724 μg/mL and 12,699 μg/mL.
