Abstract
Abstract. This study aims to detect the effectiveness of the mediating variable religiosity on the effect of exogenous demographics on Islamic financial literacy. The detection process uses the Sobel t-mediation test. The research population of the Bank^s community of respondents and the selection of Bank^s customers used purposive and accidental sampling techniques, while the determination of sample size used the Lemeshaw formula. The focus of the study in this paper is only to detect the effectiveness of the mediating variable using the t-test statistic proposed by Sobel, for the estimated value of the parameter value of the latent path coefficient of the structural model variable or Path analysis on SEM_PLS. All evaluation processes, both measurement and structural models. shows the results meet the criteria so that the overall indicators of the three variables deserve to be used as latent constructs. Meanwhile, in testing the hypothesis of individual latent demographic path coefficients on religiosity and latent religiosity in Islamic financial literacy, both showed significant results. Furthermore, according to the research objectives, related to the mediation effect based on the application of the Sobel t-mediation test, the results showed that the latent variable of Islamic Financial Literacy effectively mediates the effect of exogenous demographics on endogenous Islamic Financial Literacy.
