Abstract
Mathematics is one of the most important lessons in school. Basically, students have abilities in learning mathematics. There are mathematical communication, mathematical connections, mathematical understanding, and many more. One of the most important abilities that includes these abilities is problem solving ability. This ability is used by students in solving problems in mathematics. In learning mathematics, there are several topics, including geometry and algebra. In junior high school, students learn algebra for the first time, while geometry has been taught when they were in elementary school. Because of this, the topic of geometry is a good thing to research with the aim of knowing the extent of the abilities that students have. The research will be carried out with qualitative methods and case studi approach. The result of this research is about how student solve math problems and what obstacle that make student can not solve math problems in geometry.
