Abstract

The aim of the study is to analyze scientific knowledge based on indigenous science Brem Madiun product and the potential of students^ analytical thinking. The data were collected by documentation, interviews with brem makers, and biology teachers, also questionnaires for students. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively. The results pointed out the fact that biology lessons had not used teaching materials that could facilitate students in constructing their scientific knowledge based on indigenous science Brem Madiun product. Brem makers were categorized into three categories: large (14 makers), medium (15 makers), and small (23 makers). The results of this study indicate that the reconstruction of scientific knowledge in the process of making Brem is a biological process that can be a potential source for learning Biology. The conclusion of the study is based on the results of an analysis of Brem Madiun scientific knowledge, which can be used to improve students^ analytical thinking skills.
