Abstract
Environmental problems are one of the biggest things that people around the world have to face, including Indonesia. One of the most obvious consequences of environmental problems is the fact that at this time, the world is facing drastic climate change. It is caused by carbon emission that spill out in the atmosphere. This problem become a concern for all the field especially education, which makes students should understood about low carbon development, especially low carbon education. So they are able to apply their knowledge, skills, attitude toward environmental and low carbon emission in their daily life Thus, the aim of this research is to investigate students^ understanding and application about low carbon education in their daily life especially when they learn environmental learning. This research used survey method to the 453 students from elementary school, junior high school, senior high school, and preservice teacher who has already studied about environmental education in Kota Bogor. The instrument that is used is 34 questions include in questionnaire about Low Carbon Education (LCE) comprehension, implementation in classes, and implementation of environmental education. The results shows that, most of students did not know about Low Carbon Education terms, they understand and already done about environmental education and all the activities such as saving the energy, keep the plant growth, recycle, keep the environment clean from the trash in their activity. But the term and explanation about carbon emissions, they still feel strange about those terms. So, it can be concluded that students have already done the activity about environmental saving, they have already literate about environment, but not focused on carbon emission and low carbon education. Those terms need to be develop in environmental learning at school and especially university because they will become a teacher and applied their knowledge, skills, and attitude in school as a teacher
