Abstract
The aims of this study were to conduct a review of the perceptions of student mathematics teacher candidates towards virtual learning assisted by the Computer Algebra System (CAS) using GeoGebra related to basic conceptual derivative material during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study used a qualitative method with a case study approach to three respondents from a university in West Java. The research data were obtained from a questionnaire and interviews. The results of the research conducted showed that all respondents gave good perceptions about the use of GeoGebra Applet in virtual learning. Respondents are able to better interpret understanding in learning the basic concepts of derivatives based on the displayed geometric representations. In addition, respondents considered that the Computer Algebra System (CAS) was very relevant to be used in virtual learning as a form of adaptation to new habits during the COVID-19 pandemic.
