Between Blended Learning and Self-Regulated Learning: The Use Of Edmodo in Table Tennis Learning In Indonesian Higher Education

Abstract

Self-confidence is one of the most important aspects in developing the quality of humans^ skills. To this relation, it is commonly known that students are faced with a variety of problems in learning. To be able to reach optimum learning outcome, students ought to have good self-confidence. Therefore, a study discussing the development of students^ self-confidence is inevitable. The purpose of this study is to identify the influence of blended learning - based Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) strategies towards students^ self-confidence in table tennis learning. This study employed a quasi-experimental design with non-equivalent control groups. In the meantime, the population in this study were students of Physical Education Study Program, Faculty of Sport and Health Education, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Indonesia, class of 2017 and as many as 26 students taking Table Tennis Learning course were selected purposively to serve as the sample of this study. The sample was divided into two groups- 12 of them were an experimental group and the other 12 were a control group. To collect the data needed, this study used an instrument of self-confidence questionnaire. The results of this study showed that the sig. value was 0.021 (at the significance level of 0.05). It can be concluded blended learning - based SRL strategies had a significant impact towards^ the enhancement of students^ self-confidence in table tennis learning.
