The study concludes that leisure sports are mainly characterized by a cultural activity based on the physical practice of people in their specific leisure time to achieve the interconnection and mutual promotion of personality, social, and cultural systems. In the late Ming Dynasty, the military and literati transformed archery from a military martial art into a leisure sport for social interaction and talked about it from a practical point of view. Their ultimate goal was to bring into play social values by perfecting their personalities and then writing books and treatises to enlighten future generations. This is the humanistic spirit that characterizes Chinese physical culture. Many authors of archery books in the Ming dynasty have constructed archery systems by focusing on the subjectivity of the human being and the subjectivity of culture.
