The Annals of Jingwu in Macao: Chinese Merchant and Macao Jingwu Athletic Association Yinwei Huang- Long Zhao

Abstract
Through literature analysis, the introduction of Jingwu into Macao can been regarded as an opportunity to focus on Chinese nationalism patriotic feelings. In fact, the introduction of Jingwu into Macao was in line with the needs of the Chinese community in Macao under the leadership of the rising Chinese businessmen for Chinese cultural traditions. Subsequently, the further spread of Jingwu enabled the first systematic recognition of northern martial arts in the Chinese community in Macao. Under its centripetal force, Chinese from all walks of life have actively participated, and in just four years, Macao Jingwu Athletic Association had become the largest sports organization in Macao. The spread of Jingwu and the development of Macao Jingwu Athletic Association marks that the Chinese in Macao had psychologically accepted the sports associations by the improvement of Western sports ideas, and was the beginning stage of the Chinese sports culture in Macao.
