Abstract
The Merdeka Curriculum is an endeavor to improve the quality of education in Indonesia. The Merdeka Curriculum brings concepts that emphasize student learning independence and holistic competency development. In this context, a new assessment instrument is needed as an accurate and comprehensive evaluation method to measure students^ understanding of science concepts and their ability to think critically scientifically. This study aims to examine the use of bibliometric analysis as a reference basis in developing a new multiple assessment based on science literacy and critical thinking to measure students^ science knowledge and skills. The research method used in this study is bibliometric analysis through the Google Scholar database with the help of Harzings Publish or Perish and VOSviewer applications. It has found 604 out of 999 articles analyzed from 2018 to 2023 for this study. Furthermore, the reference manager software, Mendeley Desktop, was used to manage the selected references. VOSviewer software was used to classify and analyze research trends. The data obtained showed the need to develop a new multiple assessment based on science literacy and critical thinking as a more effective evaluation instrument in measuring students^ science knowledge and skills. This assessment will cover various aspects of science literacy, such as concept understanding, application of scientific method, data analysis, and critical thinking ability in the context of science.
