Abstract
for the environment is a very important character for the younger generation to have in order to maintain a harmonious natural environment. Because a harmonious and well-maintained nature is a valuable asset for future generations. Character education in tertiary institutions is a stage of character formation that is no less important than character building at the primary and secondary education levels, because tertiary institutions are the continuation of these two levels of education. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method at Raden Fatah State Islamic University Palembang, Indonesia. Research data obtained through interviews, observation, and documentation. There were 42 informants involved in this study. They are 8 vice deans 1 (academic), 8 vice deans 3 (student affairs), 10 lecturers, and 16 students from 8 faculties at UIN Raden Fatah. data will be analyzed through three stages, namely data reduction, data display and data verification. This research indicates that environmental care character education at UIN Raden Fatah is integrated into student academic and non-academic activities. Several coaching activities for students in intra-campus student organizations are actively involved in forming the character of caring for the environment for students.
