Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of the On-Ep-Ax approach on students^ critical thinking skills (CTS) and Scientific Attitudes (SA) in the perspective of the course ^Physics Learning Methods and Strategies^ at UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi. The approach used in this research is quantitative with quasi-experimental techniques. The number seen in this study were 17 students from UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi. The data were obtained by means of tests, namely pretest and posttest. The test instrument used was in the form of multiple choice questions, each consisting of 40 questions. Data analysis was carried out using percentage techniques, N-gain analysis and T test. Based on the data and discussion that has been done, it can be concluded that the On-Ep-Ax approach in learning ^Physics Learning Methods and Strategies^ can increase CTS and SA respectively each of 71.05% in the ^high^ category and 42.51% in the ^moderate^ category. This is reinforced by the results of the T test that both variables obtain a value (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05. This means that there is an average difference between the pretest and posttest scores for each variable. In other words, it can be said that the increase in student CTS and SA after participating in learning with the On-Ep-Ax approach is significant.
