THE EFFECT OF DISCIPLINARY CULTURE ON STUDENTS^ LEARNING INDEPENDENCE

Abstract

The goal was to determine the influence of culture and school discipline on students^ freedom to learn. Check the validity and reliability of the instrument using product moment Personality, cultural variables of students, school discipline, and educational independence, and check the reliability using Cronbach Alpha. The research methodology uses the experience of a causal approach. The total number of students in classes VA, VB, and VC of Empang Province 2 Primary School, Bogor City is 104 students in one term of the 2022/2023 school year. The sample used consisted of 51 students identified by Taro Yamane and then tested using valid and reliable instruments. The results of this study show that culture and school discipline influence students^ freedom to learn. Statistical analysis shows that the value coefficient is 3.99, which means that the effect between the variables is insufficient. The coefficient value of the regression equation Ŷ=64.07+(0.37X) indicates that each unit increase in culture and school discipline (X) increases students^ freedom of education (Y) by 0.37 units. The contribution of cultural variables, school discipline, increases students^ academic independence (r2) with a coefficient of determination from 15% to 0.15, and the remaining 85% is influenced by other factors such as family environment, interest in schooling, and motivation. does. According to research, culture, and school discipline have a positive effect on students^ freedom to learn. Therefore, one of the factors that increase the freedom of students to study is to increase the culture and discipline of students in school.
