Abstract
PLP2B is a crucial policy to ensure the sustainability of land and farmers. Before being classified as LP2B, sufficient data on the sustainability of rice fields and farmers is needed. This study aims to (1) assess the environmental (10 attributes), social (8 attributes), and economic (10 attributes) dimensions of sustainability for rice fields- (2) understand how these dimensions relate to one another- (3) Identify important factors that need to be improved to increase the sustainability of rice fields. The analysis was conducted in 26 villages in Bulungan Regency. The Multidimensional Scaling and Rapid Appraisal (MDS/RAPS) approach for sustainability is used in this study. This study^s main findings are (1) the sustainability status of the environmental dimension is 29.21-73.18, the social dimension is 28.93 - 57.28, and the economy is 39.16 - 85.40. (2) The sustainability relationship of the three dimensions ranges from somewhat sustainable to less sustainable. (3) Leveraging factors of the three dimensions are: the environmental dimension is the cropping pattern, roads, and irrigation- the social dimension is the regeneration of farmers, the age of farmers, and perceptions about farming- and the economic dimension is the economic value of land, post commodity and exchange rate of food farmers.
