Can CPSS using WEB based assessment using to measure collaborative skill in
learning physics? can you explain, how to use WEB based assessment in learning
assessment? Thank You Very Much
Replies:
Thank you, Ms. Salwa for the questions asked, and glad to know you.
Fine, I will answer your question.
Can CPS skills use WEB-based assessments measure collaborative skills in
physics learning?
yes, of course, it can, collaborative skills in cps are part of the social domain
that includes 3 aspects according to the framework used by researchers
(Hesse framework, 2015), namely: (1) Participation Skills, (Skills of taking
perspective, and ( 3) social regulation skills These three aspects are
measured by looking at how the interaction between two or more students.
well, now how does WEB based assessment measure this CPS skill?
The WEB-based CPS assessment used in this study is via the webcps.site
page, with a webcps assessment framework designed for two students who
collaborate in an online environment. students are given a login and asked
to work through the webcps.site page. Their communication and interaction
which are collaborative skills in CPS are facilitated by the chat box in the
program. after students work on assignments on this web-based
assessment, a student activity log file is generated which includes
interactions and actions taken while working on assignments. For example,
the pattern of behavior identified in the chat log file of a partner, followed by
a chat from oneself which can be interpreted in response to the contribution
of others is considered an indication of interaction (a kind of participation
skill)- Partners communicate the main information and student responses or
respond to other people^s contributions and questions (a kind of perspective-
taking). Reaching a compromise with collaborators is seen as a negotiation
(a kind of social regulation). So, this web-based assessment can measure
students^ CPS skills, especially during this co-19 pandemic period, web-
based assessment is very helpful in learning assessment.
Thus Mrs. Salwa explained from me, hopefully, this information can be
useful for you. Thank you and best regards from Riau.
