Dear Mr Pisca
I am really interest on your research. How you do your research to the orang
rimba? don^t you found difficulty to have a communicate with them? what kind of
qualitative research of yours? Do you get the data from the observation note only?
Replies:
Thank you for your question Ms. Afrida. I have done my research with the staffs of
national park. They helped me to communicate with Orang Rimba. I have give
messages what were permitted and prohibited. We have choosen some of Orang
Rimba should ready to helped my research especially traditional leaders, so they
gave me many infomation. The kind of research is qualitative research. I got the
data from observation the plants which used of Orang Rimba and interviewed them
based on the guideline which have validate from my advisor. Thank you.
Dear Ms. Pisca, your research is so amazing. But I have a question for you. I want
to know how long your research take? and as you said in your presentation, your
research ^can be used as a reference for another school^. How you can do that?
Thank you
Replies:
Thank you for your appreciation Ms. Haifa. I have finished my research was one
week. My research aimed to analyze the use of plants of orang Rimba, not to
identify the plants, so i observed some area. I know information about the data of
species from the staff of national park who concern about that.
I used the data of the research to make the learning materials in biodiversity
content. It can be used as a reference for another school if i promote or give my
learning materials to the teachers so they can teach about that to the students.
Thank you.
I really respect about your research.
I was wondering about the local wisdom of Orang Rimba. Did they get all the plants in their area? What is the various level of biodiversity that you found in that area? And do you have some information about how they first threats or how they know that the plants can be used to be food or traditional medicine?
Thank you for your question Ms. Putri. The Twelve Hills of National Park has wide
60500 ha, so all the plants are there. There live 900 orang Rimba. In the national
park has high biodiversity especially plants. The highest level of biodiversity is
species diversity.
Most of Orang Rimba live in the forest an their life very dependent on biodiversity
there. They knew the use of plants because they tried to cultivate them one by one
step by step. After they know about the benefit of the plants well. They teach and
give information to the others.
For your information, the goverments have given to some houses of Orang Rimba^s
family. Some of them have choosen to stay in the forest. Thank you.
Dear Ms. Pisca. I am really interest on your research. How do you plant to implement your learning materials on learning process? Are you try to measure the effectiveness of this learning materials or just implementing it? thank you Ms Pisca
Replies:
Thank you for your question Mr. Chandra. My learning materials consists of five
chapter. Everychapter i give practice question and information about environmental
problems, conservation, and the habits of Orang Rimba. I cannot go to the field
with them because of the difficult access location. I give my file of learning
materials to them. If the students do not understand about the instruction or the
content. I would like to explain through whatsapp (chat/call/videocall).
I just implemented my learning materials. I cannot try to measure the
effectiveness of it. Thank you.
