Abstract

Currently, Indonesia and the rest of the world are facing the Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic. The spread of the COVID-19 virus has forced school students in Indonesia and other parts of the world to study from home by smart learning. One of smart learning solution for students is learning based on ICT (Information and Communication Technology). This study aims to determine: (1) the readiness of vocational high school (VHS) students in West Java in ICT-based smart learning in terms of 3 aspects, namely cognitive, affective and psychomotor, and (2) the external supports for the implementation of smart learning. The data collection method used in the study was a survey method, while the data analysis used was quantitative descriptive analysis. The type of data in this study is primary data source from respondents or individuals from groups representing the VHS’s population throughout West Java. The results showed that ICT-based smart learning has been widely implemented in many VHS’s in West Java. In term of gender, female students showed average result for the three aspect (77.31%) better than male students (73.84%). Meanwhile, based on their grade, grade X showed average result (77.59%) better than grade XI (76.54%) and XII (73.78%). Moreover, based on the school location (city or suburb area), it showed that in average, VHS’s students in the city of Bandung (namely SMKN 4 Bandung) obtained very good criteria (82.20%), while VHS’s students in suburb area (namely SMKN 1 Maja) only obtained good criteria (70.54%). It can be concluded, that in general vacation high school students were ready for the implementation of ICT-based smart learning.

Architectural Engineering Education Study Program,
Faculty of Technology and Vocational Education, University of Education of Indonesia

Abstract

This study aimed at determining the impact of the implementation of E-Learning model during the Covid-19 pandemic at State Vocational High Schools 5 Bandung. In particular, in Department of Modeling Design and Building Information, Class X DPIB 2, on Engineering Mechanics subjects. The Covid-19 pandemic in the City of Bandung has made the learning process of this subject was carried out by the distance learning method since March 2020. The method used in this research was causal research, to examine the relationship between the independent variable (E-Learning Application) and the dependent variable (Learning Outcomes). The Pearson Correlation value showed that there is a significant correlation between variables. The correlation coefficient was 0.429 and this correlation was categorized as medium category, with correlation significance value is 0.023 <0.05, The coefficient of determination is 0.184, then E-Learning model can explain 18.4% of the variability of learning outcome. The significance value from the results of the simple regression analysis <0.05. That can be interested as the E-Learning model has a significant effect on learning outcome. Because the E-Learning model is related and has a significant effect on learning outcome, the better the application of the E-Learning model, the better the learning outcomes. Because the contribution of E-Learning video quality is high, improving the quality of E-Learning videos can contribute in improving learning outcomes, in particular in the context of distance learning due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The spread of the Covid-19 pandemic has drastically disrupted every aspect of human life including education. It has created an authentic test file about education. In many educational institutions around the world, campuses are closed and teaching and learning has moved online. Internationalization has slowed considerably, especially in vocational education which calls for practical learning in the laboratory, this is very difficult to implement in relation to the conditions of Covid-19. Despite all these challenges, Higher Education Institutions have reacted positively and succeeded in ensuring the continuity of teaching and learning, adapting to several tools and techniques during the pandemic. This article highlights the main impact of Covid-19 on learning in vocational education. Several steps were taken to provide borderless educational services during the crisis were discussed. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many new models of learning, new perspectives, new trends are emerging and the same can continue as we move on to a new tomorrow. Well, some of the Covid-19 post trends that might make it possible to envision new ways of teaching higher education learning. Some useful suggestions were also shown for carrying out educational activities during a pandemic situation. Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of using instructional media based on animation video tutorials in the Stones Concrete Working Practice course in the Civil Engineering Education program of UNJ. The research method used was a pre-experimental research design with one group pre-test post-test design. The research process amid the Covid-19 pandemic was carried out online through the WhatsApp group by sharing the pre-test Google Form link, YouTube video link, and Google Form post-test link with the research sample 60 students taking stones concrete working practice courses. The number of video tutorial media based on this animation is 12 videos with a duration of 4-8 minutes for each video. The trial test results got an average pre-test score of 54.67 and an average post-test score of 94.33. The Wilcoxon test results, and the N-Gain calculation show that there is an average difference between the pre-test and post-test learning outcomes. There is an effect of using animation-based video tutorials in increasing student learning outcomes by 80%.

Abstract

The occurrence of the Covid-19 case had an impact on changing the learning system from face-to-face to online-based distance learning. This is very influential on practical course activities which are ideally carried out directly in the laboratory. This research this research was conducted to design and test Job Sheets with reference to the essential mastery of competencies in the Cipta Boga course. Job Sheet was used to guide remote practice on the topic of Fusion Food Innovation for UPI Culinary Education Study Program students. The approach used is a combination method of sequential exploratory models involving a sample of 48 students doing distance learning. The research instrument used was a practical activity sheet design with a scientific approach. The results of the implementation show that the Job Sheet can be used by students. There has been an adjustment of the competency attainment of the Lecture Design that has been made at the beginning of the lecture towards more essential competencies. It is necessary to conduct extensive trials to determine the success of this Scientific Job Sheet.

Abstract

Food trucks are food that is sold by car, where the preparation, processing, and serving of food are in it. To prevent food born illness and safety work, the activity in food trucks must follow protocols for sanitation hygiene and work safety, especially during a pandemic. The purpose of this study was to describe the protocol for sanitation, hygiene, and safety at work (K3) in the food truck. The method used was interviews and study literature. Food handlers must apply personal hygiene, use complete work clothes starting from hair cover, until safety shoes. Work clothes are worn, right before entering the food truck. Food trucks must be designed to be sufficiently ventilated, separate, and given a barrier between the preparation, processing, and serving spaces. The interaction space between the seller and the giver must have a shield. Inside the food truck, there must also be a source of clean water, and a place for channeling liquid, solid, oil, organic, and inorganic waste. Food truck made of non-slip floors. Inside the food truck, you must prepare a light fire extinguisher and first aid equipment for health. What is the minimum area for a food truck, needs further study.
