Abstract

Anxiety is a psychological element that significantly affects athlete performance, so futsal coaches must pay attention to the anxiety level of the players, especially before the match. However, the coach^s efforts to assess the anxiety of futsal players before the match starts are very limited because there is no instrument available to measure anxiety before the game that is valid and reliable. This study aims to develop a futsal player anxiety instrument before the match. This study used futsal players as test subjects. This study used eight experts: four theoretical experts and four practitioner experts. Three indicators: cognitive indicators (3 statements), bodily indicators (3 statements), and emotional indicators (5 statements) were used to design the instrument. Aiken-V and Pearson correlation were the analyses used to check the validity of the content and the construct, respectively. The analysis used was Aiken-V to test content validity and Pearson correlation to test construct validity. To test reliability, the formula of Cronbach^s alpha was used. The content validity, construct validity, and overall reliability findings showed that 11 statements met the criteria of validity and reliability.

Abstract

The acquisition of fundamental movement skills in children is strongly associated with fitness and physical activity levels. Physical Education teachers are ideally equipped to monitor the development of children^s fundamental movement skills in the school setting. The aim of this study was to systematically review evidence on assessment instruments used to evaluate children^s fundamentals movement skills. Data sources were taken from PubMed and Scopus. The range of search data was from January 2012 to December 2022. Inclusion criteria were survey and experimental studies related to the measurement of fundamental movement skills in children. Data extraction included objectives, methods, samples, interventions, instruments and results. Data synthesis using systematic review. The results of the review showed that there were few instruments for measuring fundamental movement skills in children that were used by Physical Education Teachers. The time required to administer fundamental movement skills tests in children ranges from 20-30 minutes per child. There is one measuring instrument that is suitable for use by Physical Education Teachers because it does not require a long time to administer the test (AST-Track). However, it is not able to describe motor skills separately and completely. Based on the results of this systematic literature review study, a suitable measuring instrument is recommended that could be used by Physical Education Teachers to measure fundamental movement skills in children.

Abstract

A woman^s life has more heavy responsibilities than a man^s. Having the status of a married woman as well as being a housewife requires women to have more responsibilities in domestic work. On the other hand, the profession of a housewife is often underestimated and not appreciated. With so many tasks that must be done, housewives are vulnerable to stress and physical fatigue. The emotional management ability possessed by housewives in carrying out their roles greatly contributes to avoiding depression in the future. Sports are proven to facilitate the learning process of life skills (Zdroik & Veliz, 2020). For women, exercise acts as a stimulant for the production of body morphine, which is an endorphin or hormone that provides a sense of freshness, comfort, and joy that can reduce stress and chaos (Davidson & Murphy, 1986: 273-278). The purpose of the study was to examine the effect of routine and structured running exercise on improving life skills in housewives. The sample of this study involved 100 samples of housewives aged 30-45 years taken from the MGB running community, totaling 157 people. Life Skills for Sport (LSSS) instruments are used and disseminated via Google Form. LSSS is an instrument that contains eight (eight) components of life skills with 47 closed statements. The results showed that overall life skills were in the high category, with an average of 4,13. A comparison test using Mann-Whitney analysis revealed that there was a significant difference between the life skills of housewives who actively exercised at least three times a week (p =.487) compared to housewives who do not routinely run a running training program. A routine and structured running training program can be a recommendation for practitioners and members to improve life skills. Increasing life skills also means improving the quality of life of housewives as they carry out their complex roles.

Abstract

To improve aspects of the athlete^s physical condition requires proper periodization. In addition to the training process with short match time available, training at the elite athlete level usually collides with the time available for practice and match time, therefore a training model or engineering is needed so that with the available time, a little training process can be useful and meaningful.
The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of the application of periodization of undulating exercises on increasing muscle endurance and power endurance.
The research method is experimental, the design used is one group pretest-posttest, and the sample is 12 people. The instrument used for muscular endurance is the wall sit, and for power endurance is the hard jump.
The results showed that there was an increase in muscle endurance and power endurance after being given a strength training program with undulating periodization.
The conclusion is that the application of an exercise program with undulating periodization has a significant impact on increasing muscle endurance and power endurance.

Universitas Pendidikan Mandalika

Abstract

Physical condition is needed in basketball, especially the ability of leg muscle power and endurance. Leg muscle power is needed when performing basic technical movements such as rebounding, lay up shoot and jump shoot while endurance is needed because the game of basketball uses 4 x 10 minutes. One of the training methods that can be used to improve both physical conditions simultaneously is the interval training method which is applied in the air alert training program. However, the extent of the resulting increase we do not know. Therefore, researchers wanted to know the effect of the Air Alert training program using the interval training method on increasing leg muscle power and endurance. This study used a quasi-experimental method because the sample selection used a purposive sampling technique, namely Undikma Mataram basketball students. This study used a population of 30 people with a total sample of 15 people in the treatment group who were given Air Alert training using the interval training method and a control group of 15 people without treatment but practicing basketball as usual. The test used is the vertical jump test using the DF jump to measure leg muscle power and the MFT test to measure endurance. From the calculation of data analysis with the SPSS program, the results obtained in the treatment group for leg muscle power ability are sig. (0.000) < α (0.05), which means there is an increase in leg muscle power and for endurance it has a sig value. (0.000) < α (0.05), which means there is an increase in endurance

INTEGRATING LIFE SKILLS INTO SPORT FOR PERSON WITH DISABILITIES
Arasy Akbar Wotarsa

Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia

Abstract

Persons with disabilities are one of the groups in the world who experience discrimination the most, such as being ostracized from society, difficulty getting jobs, and political treatment among them. In various contexts, persons with disabilities do not have convenient access to health facilities, education or employment opportunities when compared to other normal people, because of their limitations they have a high probability of poverty and difficulties in the process of self-development (Mitra, Posarac, & Vick, 2013 ). Previous research said that further research is needed regarding the relationship between sports and the quality of life of persons with disabilities outside of sports, especially in the social environment and social justice (Allan, Smith, Côté, Martin Ginis, & Latimer-Cheung, 2018), then, several aspects of inclusion need researched in more depth to make the contribution of persons with disabilities in social circles, in this series of actions, sports can be a solution to make it easier for persons with disabilities to achieve social equality (Raiola & Tafuri, 2015). Sport is a facility for persons with disabilities to increase self-confidence, recognition from the community, improve the quality of social interaction, become eyes of suffering through elite sports disabilities, and make it possible to improve the quality of life (Devine et al., 2017). In order to enable persons with disabilities to have a better life in a social environment, researchers are trying to improve life skills. The link between sport skills and life skills in a sports environment is where individuals are required to learn to work together, show courage, develop themselves, practice self-control, respect rules, show sportsmanship, maintain integrity, be competitive, and show leadership qualities, respect the environment (Hermens , Super, Verkooijen, & Koelen, 2017). Sports activities can develop several components of life skills, namely persistence, goal setting, social skills, problem solving and team work (Aghdasi, 2014- Stewart, et al. 2018- Kar and Bhukar, 2013- Kohn, 2016- Zhang & Chu). Through physical activity, the development of non-sport abilities such as life skills can be carried out by means of integration through intentional arrangements (programs arranged in a structured and deliberate manner), the steps are (1) determining an appropriate program with a focus on one life skill in each each meeting, (2) provide input regarding life skills that will be learned before physical activity, (3) focus and remind life skills during physical activity, (4) strengthen life skills when physical activity is over (Kendellen, Camiré, Bean, & Forneris (2016), in this study, life skills and mental health were integrated into physical activity with intentionally structuring program.

Abstract

Mental health disorders are a threat to adolescents. This is because mental health symptoms appear since adolescence and are vulnerable to more severe risks such as depression, stress, and even suicide. Physical activity interventions that are suitable for the character of adolescents have the potential to reduce the negative impact on adolescent mental health. This article aims to analyze the effect of physical activity on adolescents^ mental health in Indonesia. This research is a literature review using the PRISMA diagram method. The articles used were sourced from several SINTA and Scopus-indexed scientific journals. The review results obtained eight articles that are relevant to the inclusion criteria and the accuracy of the research study. There are five articles that state the relationship between physical activity and mental health, and three other research articles state there is no relationship between physical activity and mental health in adolescents. Physical activity can affect mental health, emotional intelligence, depression, stress, and anxiety experienced by adolescents. However, there are some factors in physical activity that do not affect mental health. Therefore, future studies need to use mixed methods and pay attention to moderator variables in order to obtain more accurate research results.

Abstract

Adolescence is a period that is vulnerable to being influenced by the environment, at a young age it is very at risk for negative behavior. The role of physical activity or sport is a means to prevent adolescents from negative influences. However, this sports activity is not carried out regularly and the duration is very short at school, both intra-curricular and extra-curricular. Sport through physical education in schools tends to always experience curriculum changes so that the duration of sports activities becomes shorter. Currently, many teenagers are doing sports activities such as futsal games. Futsal games are useful for improving physical fitness, brain neuroplasticity which stimulates cognitive function in adolescents. The method used is an experimental method using a pre-post test design on adolescents aged 15-18 years. 40 research subjects (students who take futsal extracurricular activities at Sman 8 Bandung) were randomly divided into 2 treatment groups, namely the goal setting group and the conventional group. Treatment was given in 16 meetings. In this study the research procedure uses a ranking system from the initial test and then divides it in a zig-zag or A-B-B-A way. The research instruments used were the consentration grid exercise instrument, digit span and academic potential test. The results of the calculation of the significant test for the conventional group t value = -4.51 with degrees of freedom = 6-1 = 5, α = 0.05 and obtained Sig(2-tailed) = 0.000 <0.05 with a large increase of 4%, while the results significant test calculation experimental group t value = -28.59 and obtained Sig(2-tailed) = 0.000 <0.05 with a 12% increase, so there is a significant difference in increase between the experimental group and the conventional group

Abstract

Power is important in every sport, in almost every sport athletes will need the ability to use power at certain times which makes the athlete^s movements faster and stronger. To get this, you need a regular and measurable training program to produce maximum power. Periodization is an important component in running a training program. In sports achievement, achieving peak conditions or peak performance in accordance with the time that has been planned is the goal, but this is also the most complex problem, because it is often the peak condition (peak performance) is reached before the competition. The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of the undulating periodization model on the power increase. In almost every sport, athletes will need the ability to use power at a certain time. The method used in this study was experimental with The One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design by providing external training for eight weeks to 15 students of Sports Science FPOK UPI. The results of this study show that the undulating periodization model provides a significant increase in upperbody and lowerbody power with a significance level of 0.000 <0.005 which means that the increase in upperbody and lowerbody power increases significantly.ter

Abstract

Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) collectively make up 74% of the contributors to mortality in the world. Characteristics of jobs with the highest prevalence of NCDs are experienced by workers in the formal sector. NCDs^ risk factor with the highest rate in the formal worker group was low physical activity. This study aims to compare the impact of physical activity on formal workers in the health and economic sectors based on previous studies. The method of this study was a literature review. The research population was all articles on the topic impact of physical activity in the health and economic sectors on formal sector workers or office workers published in accredited national and international journals in 2018 - 2023. The research sample was 11 selected articles based on the results searched on Google Scholar, Pubmed, and Garuda databases. Articles selected based on the suitability of the title, contained full text, and discussed the impact of physical activity on formal workers. Physical activity has been shown to have a positive impact on reducing the risk of metabolic syndrome, hypertension, and lower back pain. Physical activity can also improve the mental health of workers. Several studies have found no impact of physical activity on body fitness, coronary heart disease risk, or worker productivity in the economic sector. Increasing physical activity in formal sector workers, especially with moderate to severe intensity has a positive impact on the health status of workers. No significant effect of physical activity was found on improvements in the economic sector.

Teacher Roles and Activeness in Early Childhood Physical Literacy in Indonesia (Preliminary Study to Create Physical Literacy Modules for Early Childhood Teachers)
Aryati, Elindra Yetti, Herwina Dewi Librianti, Mohamad Syarif Sumantri, Tuty Tarwiyah

University of Jakarta

Abstract

Abstract
Promoting physical literacy is closely related to promoting physical activity. Physical activity provides so many benefits not only on the health aspects of the body but also on the function of cognition. Conversely, low levels of physical activity, especially at an early age, have an effect on poorer brain memory performance. In preschool institutions, it is found that the pedagogical, diagnostic, and practical skills of ECCE teachers are very limited in effectively developing children^s physical literacy. They are unprepared to train children^s movement competence or facilitate physical activity, including in Indonesia. The managers should make movement and physical activity part of holistic development and intentionally incorporate them into their daily activity schedule, both structured and unstructured physical activity, as opportunities for children to develop their physical literacy components including motivation, confidence, physical competence, knowledge, and understanding. This research is quantitative research using the survey method. The sample was taken by Purposive sampling consisting of teachers and kindergarten students. 100 teachers came from kindergartens accredited A, B, and C (100% girls) and 100 kindergarten students who met a good Body Mass Index (girls 42.73%). Data collection using physical literacy instruments (for students) and teacher activeness role instruments (for teachers). While data analysis uses Descriptive and Correlational Statistics. Physical literacy instruments for early childhood use Pre-PLAy or Preschool Physical Literacy Assessment, which consists of three domains: physical competence, coordinated movement, and motivation and enjoyment. The physical literacy score data of children in the high teacher engagement group (A1) with n 67 children has a score range of 51 which is the difference between the maximum score of 145 and the minimum score of 94. While the mean value is 114.61 with a median value of 113, mode 105

Abstract

Learning basic futsal techniques is important for students who are involved in extracurricular activities. However, the limited variety of learning opportunities and the limited time of the teacher can become obstacles to teach futsal fundamental techniques effectively. Therefore, this study aims to develop various basic futsal techniques based on mobile learning for extracurricular students in junior high schools. The development method uses an instructional design approach with several steps which include needs analysis, learning design, material development, implementation and evaluation. The use of mobile learning technology is introduced as a learning platform to facilitate interaction between students and learning materials. Learning materials are developed by taking into account variations of basic futsal techniques such as dribbling, passing, shooting and ball control. Evaluation is carried out through implementation trials on a group of extracurricular students in junior high school. The results of the evaluation show that learning variations in basic futsal techniques based on motion learning can improve students^ understanding and skills in performing basic futsal techniques. In addition, students and teachers received positive feedback on the use of mobile learning. This study recommends using a variety of basic futsal techniques based on motor learning as an effective alternative for extracurricular students in junior high schools. Future research can develop additional features and include a larger sample to get more valid and representative results.
